Chris Trizzino is a USPTA Certified Elite Professional and a USTA/USPTA High Performance Specialist in Player Development with 19 years of coaching experience. Before settling in Williamsburg, Chris spent the 2019/2020 season in South Florida as an ITF/WTA/ATP Touring Coach, high performance coach, and hitting partner for numerous ITF Junior, ITF Pro Circuit, WTA, and ATP players.
In the early stages of his coaching career, Chris spent seven years leading Red, Orange, and Green development pathways, as well as adult programming. In 2014, after serving as Junior Development Specialist, he competed on the ITF Pro Circuit both nationally and internationally, gaining valuable insight into life on tour. Upon returning to Maryland, Chris became the Director of High Performance for a junior program with over 300 players, developing athletes who earned state, sectional, and national rankings. He also coached and traveled with college and professional players, helping them achieve their career goals and establish professional rankings.
Now in his third year of leading the Academy in Williamsburg, Chris has coached some of the Mid-Atlantics top junior players, guiding them to #1 rankings in singles and/or doubles. His athletes have gone on to compete in prestigious events like the Orange Bowl, National Clay Courts, National Hard Courts, Winter Nationals, and Easter Bowl. Chris also coaches the region’s top high school athletes, helping them secure multiple regional and state championships in both singles and doubles. Recently, he graduated three seniors who are heading to college programs, including two in Division 3 and one in Division 1. In 2024, Chris began coaching professional player Ema Burgic (career high WTA #145 doubles), who is making her comeback to professional tennis.
Chris is sponsored by Lacoste and Tecnifibre, two of the leading brands in tennis.
Throughout his 19-year career, Chris has dedicated himself to becoming a complete coach by learning from every aspect of the tennis industry. His passion for the sport, player development, and inspiring young athletes is evident in everything he does. He believes that athletes are people first, each with unique experiences, cultures, goals, and personalities. These factors influence his coaching philosophy, and he adapts to each players needs and learning style. You will often see Chris supporting Academy players at tournaments across the nation, always empathetic to their journey and by their side through every step. See you on the courts!
Chris Trizzino has coached my daughter for a year and a half. He has absolutely made her a better player. He has made her a better athlete all around and continues to increase her skill level on a daily basis. Chris has improved her footwork, shot selection, fitness and the mental aspect of her tennis. He pushes her to be the best player she can be while also focusing on her individual style of play. He understands that everyone’s game is different, and he doesn’t try to mold your child into someone they aren’t. Focusing on my daughter and her unique style has made her more competitive on the court. The child I brought to him all those months ago is not the same person now. She is confident in her abilities and seeks to win at every opportunity. Chris has been an important factor in her continued success in the game.
Chris is a rare combination of energy and passion paired with high level technical and tactical knowledge. He has an incredibly positive coaching style, and does an amazing job creating a family environment with all of the players he trains. Junior tennis can be a lonely world when you’re out there on your own, but Chris is a constant at tournaments supporting his players, and has taught them the importance of supporting one another, creating that team feel that can so often be lost in the individual world of junior tennis.” Eric Christiansen - CNU Men’s Head Coach
Every now and then, when we’re lucky and/or fate intervenes in our professional or personal lives, a “unicorn” might appear. That young man or woman who pops up and electrifies a part of the staff, lights up every clinic, eats, sleeps, dreams, and talks about tennis on and off the court, and we just know that person was born to teach and coach tennis….so much so that I requested a dinner meeting with his family just to be sure they understood what life he was clearly meant to live. Chris was our unicorn and we’re proud to be his first Club family, our first Director of High Performance, and we’re proud of his ongoing successes as a Coach and tennis influencer.

Chris is an outstanding tennis coach. Our daughters have been training with him for over 3 years and their level of play has increased tremendously. He worked tediously to develop a strong technical foundation for both of them and has been committed to developing each of them to their full potential as players. He is particularly good at recognizing the areas of their games that need the most improvement or attention and helping them implement the correct adjustments.
He has formed a very strong coach-player relationship with our daughters, and we appreciate his impact on their lives. He has a long view of junior tennis development, which helps take the immediate pressure off them to win at all costs, and instead helps them (and us) to focus on their individual improvement and appreciate the process of developing every part of their game to make them more successful in the future. He has also been very involved in their tournament play choices and has traveled to L1 and L2National tournaments as well as local events to be a support to our girls. We are very thankful for his coaching and his commitment to their future as players and as individuals.

Coach Chris has done an amazing job developing a comprehensive training program for his players. Our boys have grown so much in their technique, skill, and competitive ability for the game. Chris cares about the kids, both as players, and people, and wants them first and foremost to be happy, and addiitionally to develop into better players and competitors. The academy, with its coaches, creates an atmosphere that supports high performance tennis, fitness, and mental toughness. Off the court lessons have been just as important as on the court ones, and I am grateful Coach Chris and his team have the experience and knowledge to help my kids continue to develop life skills as well as tennis skills. They continue to grow under his guidance and we are very pleased with their experience.
